Bandipur National Park

Bandipur National Park in Karnataka is a tiger reserve with an area of 900 square km. In the dense moist deciduous forests of this area the upper canopy reaches heights of 30m and valuable hardwoods like teak and rosewood are also to be found here.

This is one of the finest habitats of the Asian elephant. Drained by the Moyar River, its open forest makes it easy for visitors to see the elephant and gaur in natural surroundings.

The park has good facilities for viewing wildlife, which include gaur, elephant, sambar, chital and even the occasional tiger or leopard. Among other mammals are the muntjac, the tiny mouse deer, wild boar, pangolin, giant squirrel, slender loris, langurs and macaques. The Park has about 250 species of birds and Malabar trogan, the Malabar pied hornbill, the great black woodpecker, the Indian pitta and the green imperial pigeon are part of its avian variety.

This is a good destination which can be added for almost all the tours starting from Bangalore and heading towards Ooty and Kerala. You can easily make a circuit covering Nagarhole, Bandipur, Mudumalai and B R Hills which are the prime jungles of the area.

Day 01: Bangalore

Day 02: Bandipur National Park

After hearty breakfast at the hotel enjoy the guided jeep safari into the forest for game viewing. Also see the varied wildlife species and birds in their natural home. Later return back to the resort and enjoy rest of the time at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the forest resort.

Day 03: Bandipur National Park

After healthy breakfast enjoy the guided jeep safari into the national park. In the afternoon enjoy the nature walk around the national park and see varied birds and life around the park. Return back to the resort on time and enjoy free time on your independent activities. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the resort.

Day 04: Bandipur National Park - Bangalore

After hearty breakfast enjoy guided elephant safari inside the national park. In the afternoon drive back to Delhi in an exclusive vehicle.
