Day 01

Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

Morning: Arrive at Paro International Airport, and transfer to Thimphu (1.5-hour drive). Check-in at your hotel. Afternoon: Visit the National Memorial Chorten, a prominent landmark dedicated to world peace. Explore the Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the government and the king’s office. Evening: Stroll around Thimphu’s Main Street, visit local shops, and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 02

Thimphu Sightseeing

Morning: Visit the Buddha Dordenma, a massive statue overlooking Thimphu Valley. Explore the Motithang Takin Preserve to see the national animal, the takin. Afternoon: Visit the Folk Heritage Museum and Textile Museum to learn about Bhutanese culture and traditions. Stop by the National Library and Zorig Chusum (Painting School), where traditional arts and crafts are taught. Evening: Visit the Crafts Bazaar for authentic Bhutanese handicrafts.

Day 03

Thimphu to Punakha

Morning: Drive to Punakha (2.5-hour drive) via Dochula Pass (3,100 meters), where you can see 108 chortens and enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas. Afternoon: Visit the Punakha Dzong, one of the most beautiful and significant dzongs in Bhutan. Walk across the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest in Bhutan. Evening: Leisure time at your hotel or explore Punakha town.

Day 04

Punakha to Phobjikha Valley (Gangtey)

Morning: Drive to Phobjikha Valley (3-hour drive), a glacial valley known for its natural beauty and as the winter home of the black-necked cranes. Afternoon: Visit the Gangtey Monastery, one of Bhutan’s oldest and most important monasteries. Explore the Phobjikha Valley, walking through the village and enjoying the serene landscape. Evening: Overnight stay in a traditional farmhouse or a hotel.

Day 05

Phobjikha to Paro

Morning: Drive back to Paro (6-hour drive), enjoying scenic views along the way. Afternoon: Visit the Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong), a fortress-monastery with a rich history. Explore the National Museum of Bhutan housed in the Ta Dzong. Evening: Stroll around Paro town, visit local shops, and enjoy Bhutanese cuisine.

Day 06

Paro – Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Morning: Hike to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang), perched on a cliff 3,120 meters above sea level. The hike takes about 4-5 hours round trip. Afternoon: Return to Paro and relax after the hike. Visit the Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan. Evening: Relax at your hotel or enjoy a traditional hot stone bath.

Day 07

Departure from Paro

Morning: Transfer to Paro International Airport for your departure.
